      Emergence of homozygous Akt187 mutant flies is delayed by two to four days compared with controls.

      The eyes of Akt187 mutant flies exhibit a decrease in both ommatidial number and size compared with controls. The ommatidia in Akt187 mutant eye clones are reduced in size compared to the homozygous flies.
