Emergence of homozygous Akt1⁵⁷ mutant flies is delayed by two to four days compared with controls.

The eyes of Akt1⁵⁷ mutant flies exhibit a decrease in both ommatidial number and size compared with controls. The ommatidia in Akt1⁵⁷ mutant eye clones are reduced in size compared to the homozygous flies.
