TkΔ1C/TkΔ1C or TkEY20174/TkΔ1C early third instar larvae do not have significantly different baseline thermal nociception (uninjured larval responses to thermal probes at 45[o] or 48[o]C) compared to controls. 24 hours after UV-induced nociceptive sensitization, early third instar TkΔ1C/TkΔ1C, TkEY20174/TkΔ1C or TkΔ1C/Df(3R)Exel7312 larvae show significant reduction of thermal allodynia (withdrawal responses to a sub-threshold 38[o]C probe) compared to wild type or heterozygote larvae.
