The continual expression of sona^dsRNA.UAS.1 under the control of Scer\GAL4^nub.PU leads to all wings being small, wrinkled or both.

The continual expression under the control of Scer\GAL4^wg-Gal4 leads to wing notches in about half of the individuals.

Expression of sona^{dsRNA.Scer\UAS.1} under the control of any of the following: Scer\GAL4^en.PU, Scer\GAL4^ptc.PU, Scer\GAL4^nub.PU, Scer\GAL4^GMR.PU, Scer\GAL4^wg.PU, Scer\GAL4^sona-NP5284, Scer\GAL4^hh.PU and Scer\GAL4^Act.PU results in increased lethality at various stages of development and/or loss or malformation of adult appendages: Expression under Scer\GAL4^nub.PU leads to smaller wings, loss of anterior crossvein and shorter distance between wing vein L3 and L4, to disordered eye bristles under Scer\GAL4^GMR.PU, to wing notches, eye loss, shorter or missing legs under Scer\GAL4^wg.PU and to twisted legs, disordered eye bristles, small salivary gland when expressed under the Scer\GAL4^sona-NP5284 driver.
