The total area of adult wings in flies co-expressing neurScer\UAS.cUa and HERC2G17171 under the control Scer\GAL4dpp.PU is significantly reduced compared to controls (as is the area where the Scer\GAL4dpp.PU driver is expressed). No such size decrease is apparent when neurScer\UAS.cUa is expressed alone.

The loss of dopaminergic neurons from the PPL1, PPM1/2 and PPM3 clusters in the adult brain characteristic for flies expressing DlScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4ple.PU (together with tub-Gal80[ts] to limit the time of expression to adulthood) can be prevented by co-expression of any of neurScer\UAS.cUa.
