Detailed Description

Rab7d1 homozygous mutants die at late pupal stage. The number of autophagic structures is increased but their average size is decreased in fat cells of starved Rab7d1 mutant third instar larvae.

The number of acidic autolysosomes (detected by LysoTracker staining) is strongly reduced in fat body cells of starved Rab7d1/Df(3R)Exel6196 mutant third instar larvae relative to controls, while the cells show abnormal accumulation of autophagosomes.

Comments

Expression of Rab7Scer\UAS.P\T.T:Avic\GFP-YFP under the control of Scer\GAL4hs.PU rescues the loss of acidic autolysosomes (detected by LysoTracker staining) observed in fat cells of starved Rab7d1/Df(3R)Exel6196 third instar larvae.
