cic4/cic4 flies are semi-lethal and show a range of developmental defects. Surviving adults exhibit thickened wing veins and ectopic vein material in the wings. cic4/cic4 males are sterile and exhibit a severe genitalia rotation phenotype. Embryos produced by cic4/cic4 females lack all central thoracic and abdominal segmented regions.
cic4/cicQ474X and cic4/Df(3R)ED6027 adults exhibit wing defects including reduced wing size and ectopic wing vein material in the wings.
Embryos produced by cic1/cic4 females exhibit severe defects including loss of thoracic and abdominal regions.
