The mini-white cassette of the progenitor (TI{TI}mir-31aKO.RMCE) has been replaced with sequence encoding a GAL4 driver.
At day 7 post eclosion, mir-31aKO.Gal4/mir-31aKO transheterozygotes, mir-31aKO.Gal4 homozygotes, and mir-31aKO.Gal4 heterozygotes also expressing mir-31asponge.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP-EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4mir-31a (the intrinsic Gal4 driver of mir-31aKO.Gal4), but not mir-31aKO.Gal4 heterozygotes, exhibit a decrease in the number of adult brain glial cells, as compared to controls.

mir-31aKO.Gal4 is rescued by Scer\GAL4mir-31a/mir-31aUAS.cSb
The decreased number of 7 days old adult brain glial cells present in mir-31aKO.Gal4 homozygotes is rescued by the expression of mir-31aScer\UAS.cSb under the control of Scer\GAL4mir-31a (the intrinsic Gal4 driver of mir-31aKO.Gal4).
