Expression of two copies of Nlg4Scer\UAS.cZa under the control of either Scer\GAL4elav.PU or Scer\GAL4RapGAP1-OK6 (but not Scer\GAL4C57) leads to increased number of boutons as well as satellite boutons on neuromuscular junctions in third instar larvae, whereas expression of just one copy under the same drivers has no significant effect on bouton number.
Nlg4UAS.cZa, Scer\GAL4elav.PU has abnormal neuroanatomy | third instar larval stage phenotype, suppressible by tkv7/tkv[+]

Nlg4UAS.cZa, Scer\GAL4RapGAP1-OK6 has NMJ bouton | increased number | third instar larval stage phenotype, suppressible by tkv7/tkv[+]
Nlg4UAS.cZa, Scer\GAL4RapGAP1-OK6 has NMJ bouton | increased number | third instar larval stage phenotype, suppressible by witA12/wit[+]
Nlg4UAS.cZa, Scer\GAL4RapGAP1-OK6 has NMJ bouton | increased number | third instar larval stage phenotype, suppressible by Mad8-2/Mad[+]
The increased bouton and satellite bouton number characteristic for third instar larvae expressing two copies of Nlg4Scer\UAS.cZa under the control of Scer\GAL4RapGAP1-OK6 is suppressed by combination with a single copy of tkv7 or witA12 or Mad8-2.
Scer\GAL4C57/Nlg4UAS.cZa fails to rescue Nlg4KO10
The decreased number but increased size of boutons on neuromuscular junctions in Nlg4KO10 mutant third instar larvae is fully rescued by expression of Nlg4Scer\UAS.cZa if driven by either Scer\GAL4elav.PU or Scer\GAL4RapGAP1-OK6 but not Scer\GAL4C57. Similarly, the functional neurotransmission defects (reduced quantal content, decreased amplitude of evoked excitatory junction potentials) along with the larval locomotor deficit are rescued by Scer\GAL4elav.PU-driven expression of Nlg4Scer\UAS.cZa but not if it is controlled by Scer\GAL4C57.
