    Two lesions within the second coding exon of Patronin; a GC to TA substitution that changes Met Pro to Ile Ser, and a deletion of a G nucleotide that changes Glu Thr Val Leu to Lys Arg Tyr STOP, resulting in a premature stop codon after 105 amino acids.

    GCCCATTACCG is changed to TACCATTACC in the second exon of Patronin. The result is a change from Met Pro to Ile Ser at amino acid 99/100 and a frameshift after aa102 leading to early translation termination after 105 amino acids.

    Patroninc9-c5 homozygous mutant clones (induced using Scer\FLP1SOP.scE1x6) have a failure to prune all ddaC dendrites by 16 h after puparium formation (APF), unlike controls; ddaC dendrite arbors are also simplified at the white prepupal stage, compared to controls; ddaC clones have significantly reduced numbers of dendritic termini at the wandering third instar stage, compared to controls, despite similar numbers of primary and secondary dendrites; there is also an increase in plus-end out microtubules in larval ddaC dendrites, compared to controls.
