Description

Coding region of the endogenous NPF locus has been replaced with sequence encoding a lexA::p65 driver and a w+* marker. This results in a knockout of NPF and allows expression of the lexA::p65 driver under the control of endogenous NPF regulatory sequences.

      NPFlexA and NPFlexA/NPF1 males have significantly increased courtship towards females and males, compared to controls; NPFlexA/NPF1 males additionally have increased courtship towards immature, decapitated and D. simulans females, compared to controls, with no effect on preference index for females over males.
