Cytology
Description

Sequence encoding the GAL4::VP16 driver has been inserted into the CH321-34F01 BAC clone, immediately after the translation start site of CNMa. This results in expression of the GAL4::VP16 driver under the control of CNMa regulatory sequences.

Detailed Description

Activation of Scer\GAL4VP16.CNMa-positive neurons (by the expression of TrpA1UAS.(B).cKa under the control of Scer\GAL4VP16.CNMa) leads to decreased female fecundity. Activation of Scer\GAL4VP16.CNMa-positive neurons (by the expression of Bhal\NaChBacUAS.EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4VP16.CNMa) leads to small individuals, as assessed by the wing size.

Inactivation of Scer\GAL4VP16.CNMa-positive neurons (by the expression of Hsap\KCNJ2UAS.EGFP under the control of Scer\GAL4VP16.CNMa) leads to absent circadian vitellogenesis rhythm (i.e. absence of peak stage 8 oocyte production at CT14).
