AlphaFold produces a per-residue confidence score (pLDDT) between 0 and 100. Some regions with low pLDDT may be unstructured in isolation.

The testis specificity index was calculated from modENCODE tissue expression data by Vedelek et al., 2018 to indicate the degree of testis enrichment compared to other tissues. Scores range from -2.52 (underrepresented) to 5.2 (very high testis bias).
mtSSB transcripts are detected at all stages of development on northern blots with the highest levels in embryos and adults. mtSSB transcripts are distributed throughout the syncytial embryo stage and disappear by the cellular blastoderm stage. At later embryonic stages, transcripts are observed in the midgut.
The 0.6kb mtSSB transcript is observed in ovaries and during embryogenesis. A 1.5kb related transcript observed in adult female carcasses and in first instar larvae may be an alternatively spliced transcript or the product of another gene.

Please Note This section lists cDNAs and ESTs that fall within the genomic extent of the gene model, which may include cDNAs and ESTs of genes within introns, or of overlapping genes. Please see JBrowse for alignment of the cDNAs and ESTs to the gene model.
For each fully sequenced cDNA the DGRC maintains various forms of the cDNA (e.g tagged or untagged) in several different host vectors for subsequent cloning and expression in Drosophila and Drosophila cell lines.
New stable cell line derived from S2-unspecified : S2 cells expressing Tag:HA -tagged mtSSB and Tag:V5 -taggeds rnh1 were created.
Area matching Drosophila mitochondrial single-stranded DNA binding protein, Acc. No. U00669.
Mutants show a drastic decrease in MT:DNA content that is coupled with a loss of respiration.
Mitochondrial single stranded DNA binding protein is purified and identified by amino terminal sequencing, peptide analysis and localisation of the protein in the mitochondrial fraction. Physical and biochemical properties of the 18kD polypeptide demonstrate it is distinct from the nuclear single stranded DNA binding protein, RpA-30. Functional interaction with mitochondrial DNA polymerase γ suggests it serves an important role in mitochondrial DNA replication.
mtSSB stimulates DNA polymerase γ activity in vitro.
