Drives expression in gamma lobe Kenyon cells in the mushroom body.
ScerGAL4H24 labels the mushroom body gamma neurons. Co-expression with presynaptic and postsynaptic markers labels distinct domains of Kenyon cell terminals in the calyx of the mushroom body.
Expression of ScerGAL4H24 is seen in cell bodies found in the local interneuron cluster located lateral and dorsolateral to the antennal lobe. Most labelled cells are ipsilaterally projecting interneurons.
ScerGAL4H24 drives expression in mostly GABAergic antennal lobe local interneurons, and in a subset of olfactory projection neurons and Kenyon cells.
In the mushroom body, ScerGAL4H24 drives expression in the whole of the gamma lobe, although with different intensities: the main body of the lobe stains stronger than the dorsomedial tip.
Expression of ScerGAL4H24 is seen in approximately 40 cells of the ellipsoid body neurons that arborize in the periphery of the ring neurons.
