Sequence from the N-terminal part of the Khc gene, which includes the globular head motor domain but does not include the cargo binding domain. A protein of interest tagged with this sequence is targeted to the microtubules, and in neurons this results in the protein being targeted to cell projections such as the axon, presumably due to the tagged protein being transported along the microtubules towards their plus ends (FBrf0073174).
