D6Dre corresponds to the recombinase encoded by the dre gene of Enterobacteria phage D6. It recognizes the D6rox target site, with recombination occurring between a pair of these sites (PMID:15550568). D6Dre shows low toxicity in transgenic Drosophila. It shows moderate recombination efficiency in transgenic flies, and may thus be useful for techniques where a lower recombination efficiency is required, such as stochastic cell labeling (FBrf0214794).
