Description

A 2.5kb fragment from upstream of the TrpA1 start codon is fused to sequence encoding a GAL4 driver. This is followed by a 1.7kb fragment consisting of TrpA1 sequences from exon 1 to the fourth intron.

ScerGAL4^TrpA1.SH is expressed in the 4 AC thermosensory neurons, in 10 other cells in the brain and subesophageal ganglion and in 8 cells in the thoracico-abdominal ganglion. Co-expression of ScerGAL4^TrpA1.SH with pre- and postsynaptic markers labels presynaptic terminals in the dorsal protocerebrum and postsynapses in the cell body of the AC neurons, at the subesophageal ganglion and at the dorsolateral protocerebrum.
