Description

A 3598 base pair fragment from the hug region, including the putative endogenous hug promoter, is followed by sequence encoding a lexA::p65 driver. The driver sequence has been optimized for Drosophila codon usage. An Hsp70 transcriptional terminator is present.

Positive GRASP (GFP reconstitution across synaptic partners) signals between adult Hugin neurons labelled with EcollexAGMR61H10 and neurons labelled with ScerGAL4VT039046 were observed in the adult subesophageal zone, near the esophagus, and along the midline of the brain. GRASP signals were also observed between descending projections of Hugin neurons labelled with EcollexAGMR61H10 and motor neurons labelled with ScerGAL4VGlut-OK371 in the thoracic and abdominal ganglia.
