No retinal phenotypes are seen in mub04093 mutant flies.

mub04093 flies, in trans to Df(3L)Exel6137 flies very rarely eclose. Those that do exhibit defective locomotive behaviour (they are flightless and stick to the growth medium) and die within several days. The few eggs that are laid from these flies are phenotypically normal.

Flies with mub04093 in trans to Df(3L)ED4978 (which leaves the mub coding region intact but deletes part of the first mub intron, all of the first mub exon, and all 5' flanking sequences) can eclose, although at a low frequency. They exhibit locomotive defects and live for up to 7 days. The few eggs that are laid from these flies are phenotypically normal.
