Point mutant.
Shows a dominant Minute phenotype: short fine bristles, delayed development and reduced viability. embryos have run-associated segmentation defects. This phenotype is suppressed by the maternal presence of P{1BD#1}. Reduced maternal RpL36 activity increases the penetrance and severity of the segmental defects observed in larvae heterozygous for Kr or kni mutations. Reduced maternal RpL36 activity has no effect on the larval or adult phenotypes of twi or Dl heterozygotes, or on the viability of Kr heterozygotes.
Lethal phase is from early larval to the pupal stage.
Recovered by Voelker in a screen for lethals in the vicinity of su(s). Lethality occurs between the first larval instar and pupation.
Acts as a dosage sensitive maternal modifier of run : causes tergite defects in greater than 65% of run3 heterozygotes. When derived from RpL36B46/+ females, 57% of heterozygous run embryos have run-associated segmentation defects.
