In the odour-induced jump test, homozygous mutants of mysolfC-x3 are defective in response to ethyl acetate and iso-amyl acetate but not benzaldehyde, when compared to controls.

Mutants exhibit reduced olfactory responses to isoamyl acetate and ethyl acetate, whether homozygous or in combination with mysolfC-x5, mysolfC-x10 or mysolfC-x17.

Homozygous adults show a reduced attraction to both ethyl acetate and iso-amyl acetate compared to wild-type in a slow chemotaxis assay and an odor-induced jump assay. Homozygous larvae also show a reduced attraction to both ethyl acetate and iso-amyl acetate. Responses of larvae and adults to benzaldehyde, propionic acid and butanol are normal. mysolfC-x3/mysolfC-x5 flies are defective in their responses to both ethyl acetate and iso-amyl acetate.

reduced attraction to both ethyl and iso-amyl acetate mysolfC-x3 over olfC deletion behaves with same poor responses to acetates as does homozygous mutant

In the odour-induced jump test, mutants with the transheterozygous combination of mysolfC-x3 with swsolfE-x26 show normal response to iso-amyl acetate, ethyl acetate and benzaldehyde, compared to controls.

When tested in the odour-induced jump-test, double heterozygotes of mewM6 and mysolfC-x3 show reduced responses to both ethyl acetate and iso-amyl acetate.

Mutants with mysolfC-x3 in transheterozygosity to Df(1)C128 (which removes both sws and mys) show defects in response to iso-amyl acetate but not benzaldehyde compared to controls, when tested in the odour-induced jump test.
