P-element insertion 182bp downstream of the 5' end of the cDNA, 256bp upstream of the translation start.
A P element insertion at cytological location 51A5--51A6.
Homozygotes show trx-G like phenotypes. In 10-20% of male flies abdominal tergites 5 or 6 are transformed towards a more anterior segment (judged by pigmentation) and the halteres are transformed towards wing (with penetrance of about 20%). Posterior transformation characteristic of Pc-G mutations are also seen. Third or fourth abdominal segment become more posterior.
AsxP1, Df(2R)trix has partially lethal - majority die phenotype
AsxP1/Asx[+] is an enhancer of adult abdominal segment 4 | ectopic phenotype of E(z)Trm
AsxP1/Asx[+] is an enhancer of adult abdominal segment 5 phenotype of E(z)Trm
AsxP1 is an enhancer of abdominal segment phenotype of Pc4
AsxP1/Asx[+] is a suppressor of adult mesothoracic segment | ectopic phenotype of E(z)Trm
AsxP1/Asx[+] is a suppressor of adult metathoracic segment phenotype of E(z)Trm
AsxP1, trxB11 has adult metathoracic segment phenotype
In combination with trxB11, the haltere is much enlarged over that seen for AsxP1 alone, T3 is partially transformed towards T2. These phenotypes have a penetrance of close to 100%. AsxP1 enhances both the penetrance and expressivity of trxZ11. AsxP1 strongly enhances the extra sex combs phenotype and abdominal homeotic transformations associated with Pc4.
