Description

Insertion of a P{lacW} element within the intron.

Insertion of a P{lacW} element into the intron. The site of P{lacW} element insertion is identical to the site of insertion of the P{lacW} elements in nebk06334.

P{lacW} insertion at position 9879bp.

Detailed Description

Reference

Only a small percentage of homozygotes survive to adulthood. These adult flies have a range of morphological defects. Larval neuroblasts contain polyploid figures.

Escapers have many missing bristles, behavioural defects and wings held out perpendicular to the body.

Comments
Comments

Reversion analysis indicates that the adult and cell division phenotypes of the nebk05702 chromosome are caused by the P{lacW} element insertion. fokHN237 does not rescue the phenotype of flies homozygous for the nebk05702 mutation, indicating that the phenotypes associated with this mutation are due to the P{lacW} insertion disrupting the neb gene, and are not due to disruption of the fok gene.
