Mov34k08003 mutants fail to efficiently sever their larval dendrites during metamorphosis, with the retention of approximately 49% of large dendritic branches at 20 hours after pupal formation.
When homozygous clones are made no gross defects in axon guidance are seen in the mushroom body, however a block on axon pruning during metamorphosis is seen. As a consequence of this phenotype mutant γ neurons also maintain their dorsal projections. A reduction is also seen of cell numbers in neuroblast clones. Mutant clones show a weak age-dependant loss of cell number and axon projections.
