smt3k01211 germ-line clone embryo-producing females lay relatively few mature eggs. None of these hatch and all unhatched embryos die prior to cuticle formation.

Approximately 30% of smt3k01211 GLC eggs exhibit defective egg shells.

The average number of crystal cells per embryo is reduced in homozygous stage 13-14 embryos compared to wild type.

0.76% of smt304493/smt3k01211 animals survive as adult escapers. These females produce few late-stage egg chambers and these rare eggs have poorly developed dorsal appendages.
