Continuous overexpression of the repressor isoform ci[Ce-2.Scer\UAS. T:Ivir \HA1] from larval stages into the adult driven by Scer\GAL4byn-Gal4 in combination with Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B results in a markedly shortened hindgut that consists almost entirely of small, undifferentiated cells normally found only in the hindgut proliferation zone in the wild-type.

In the eye discs of ciCe-2.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1; Scer\GAL4fng-B animals, furrow progression and differentiation fails in ventral cells, but is normal in dorsal regions of the eye. However, ciU.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1; Scer\GAL4h-H10 flies have normal eyes.

Expression of ciCe-2.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP in somatic clones in the ovary can result in multicyst and apposed egg chambers, disorganised encapsulation in the germarium and abnormal stalk formation.

Clones of anterior cells in the wing disc expressing ciCe-2.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP take up positions normally occupied only by posterior cells and define straight borders to anterior cells which do not carry ciCe-2.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1.

The suppression of the WGMR.PG eye phenotype seen in eyes mosaic for cosH29 (generated using the ey-FLP/FRT system) is reverted by expression of ciCe-2.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 (via the MARCM system) in the cosH29 clones.

Expression of ciCe-2.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 does not suppress the dendrite pruning defects seen in ddaC neurons expressing lin19GD9650 under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.PG at 16 hours after pupariation.

When ciCe-2.Scer\UAS.T:Ivir\HA1 and eyScer\UAS.cHa co-expressed (driven by Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI) in clones in the wing disc, morphogenetic furrow initiation and photoreceptor differentiation are blocked within the clones.
