Detailed Description

Psn⁴⁶/Psn^W6 and Psn⁴⁶/Psn^W11 show early pupal lethality. The third instar larvae form a pupal case, but no adult structures develop. Mutant larvae show underdeveloped eye and wing discs. The eye imaginal disc fails to undergo proper neuronal differentiation. The wing imaginal disc is smaller with the most severe defects observed in the region that will give rise to the wing blade. The antenna and leg imaginal discs appear normal.
