Expression of HemScer\UAS.T:Myr-Src64B under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU results in a rough eye phenotype. 40 hour pupal eye discs show disorganised F-actin patterning compared to wild-type controls.

Clones of cells expressing HemScer\UAS.T:Myr1 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP in the wing disc grow equivalently to control clones. 4% of the cells expressing HemScer\UAS.T:Myr1 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP are apoptotic (compared to 0.2% of control cells) and also 1% of neighbouring cells are apoptotic (compared to 0.3% of cells neighbouring control clones), survival of cells more than one cell diameter away is not affected. 81% of the dying cells adjacent to cells expressing HemScer\UAS.T:Myr1 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PP become engulfed by them (compared to 33% of dying cells engulfed into control cells).

HemScer\UAS.T:Myr1; Scer\GAL4sca.PC flies have short, split microchaetae. Neuromuscular junctions in HemScer\UAS.T:Myr1; HemScer\UAS.T:Myr1 third instar larvae exhibit increased budding.

In HemScer\UAS.T:Myr1; Scer\GAL4Act5C.PHb transfected S2 cells F-actin accumulates close to the membrane. HemScer\UAS.T:Myr1)X3; Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 flies have shortened, thickened bristles, that are often forked. In addition, epidermal cells in these flies have multiple hairs emerging from each cell. (HemScer\UAS.T:Myr1)X2; Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 flies have similar but milder phenotypes. In (HemScer\UAS.T:Myr1)X3; Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 pupae, the apical F-actin cytoskeleton of bristle forming (thecogen) cells is disturbed: In contrast to wild type, large and irregular F-actin bundles emerge. In addition, the morphology of thecogen cells abnormal. These cells exhibit more irregular shapes and the cortical F-actin network appears fuzzy.

Co-expression of HemScer\UAS.T:Myr-Src64B enhances the split microchaete phenotype caused by expression of Abp1Scer\UAS.T:Myr-Src64B,T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4sca.PU.

The rough eye phenotype caused by expression of HemScer\UAS.T:Myr-Src64B under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU is enhanced by co-expression of either Ptp61FdsRNA.Scer\UAS.WIZ or AblScer\UAS.cFa and is suppressed by co-expression of either Ptp61Fm.Scer\UAS or AblK417N.Scer\UAS.

The defects seen in F-actin organisation in 40 hour pupal eye discs of animals expressing HemScer\UAS.T:Myr-Src64B under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU are increased significantly by co-expression of Ptp61FdsRNA.Scer\UAS.WIZ.

The short and split microchaetae phenotype of HemScer\UAS.T:Myr1; Scer\GAL4sca.PC flies is synergistically enhanced by Sra-1Scer\UAS.T:Myr1.

The bristle phenotype due to HemScer\UAS.T:Myr1; Scer\GAL4sca-537.4 is dominantly suppressed by WASp3.
