Expression of Diap1dsRNA.UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU leads to increased apoptosis in the eye visualized by loss of pigmentation and reduced eye size when compared to controls.

Expression of Diap1dsRNA.Scer\UAS using the eye-specific driver Scer\GAL4GMR.PF leads to severe apoptosis in the developing eye. Consequently, adult Scer\GAL4GMR.PF>Diap1dsRNA.Scer\UAS flies display reduced eye size, roughening of the eye surface, and loss of pigmentation.

Expression of thdsRNA.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU results in significantly smaller eyes because of increased apoptosis.

Scer\GAL4GMR.PU-driven expression of thdsRNA.Scer\UAS results in eye degeneration.
