In 1-2 day old Usp36^d06513 homozygous adults, the number of male germ-line stem cells is reduced relative to wild-type.

The number of female germline stem cells in the germaria of Usp36^d06513/Usp36⁰²³³¹ adult females is reduced compared to wild-type.

The number of male germline stem cells is reduced in Usp36^d06513 homozygotes. Cells in the male germline stem cell niche in these animals express differentiation markers.
