W1251R
Site of nucleotide substitution in mutant inferred by FlyBase based on reported amino acid change.
5-15% of TorW1251R mutants are able to survive to adulthood. These escapers are about half the size of wild type and are developmentally delayed by 2 days at 25oC. Escaper flies are 10:1 female:male and both genders are sterile. Ovaries dissected from TorW1251R females display arrested development and increased cell death at a previtellogenic stage. Testes are abnormal and have a grossly enlarged apical tip.
Tor[+]/mTorW1251R is a suppressor | partially of lethal | larval stage phenotype of gig193/gig109
Selected as: a mutation that is lethal in trans to the TorΔP deletion.
