Neuronal expression of DAAMScer\UAS.P\T.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU has no effect on viability and only affects the axonal projection pattern of the mushroom body in 2-3% of cases.

Expression of DAAMScer\UAS.P\T.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PU results in late third instar larvae that are significantly longer than controls. The LV3 muscle is longer than normal, although sarcomere size is slightly shorter than controls. The increase in muscle length is due to a significant increase in sarcomere number. The larvae show increased motility compared to wild type.

Expression of DAAMScer\UAS.P\T.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4UH3 has no obvious effect on the indirect flight muscles.

Coexpression of DAAMScer\UAS.P\T.cMa and DAAMC.Scer\UAS.P\T, under the control of Scer\GAL4btl.PS, causes a suppression of the Scer\GAL4btl.PS/DAAMC.Scer\UAS.P\T phenotype in regular tracheal cells but not in fusion cells.

The thin filament shortening phenotype seen in the indirect flight muscles of animals expressing tmodScer\UAS.cBa under the control of Scer\GAL4UH3 is unaffected by the co-expression of DAAMScer\UAS.P\T.cMa.

Comments

Expression of DAAMScer\UAS.P\T.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU rescues the α and β lobe mushroom body defects seen in DAAMEx1 mutant flies.

Expression of DAAMScer\UAS.P\T.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU rescues the α and β lobe mushroom body defects seen in DAAMEx4 mutant flies.

Expression of DAAMScer\UAS.P\T.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4UH3 rescues the flightless phenotype seen in some DAAMEx1 adults.

Expression of DAAMScer\UAS.P\T.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PU partially rescues the reduced motility and almost fully rescues the body and muscle size of late third instar DAAMEx68 larvae.

The CNS defects revealed in DAAMEx68/DAAMEx1 mutants are fully rescued when DAAMScer\UAS.P\T.cMa is expressed under the control of the pan-neuronal Scer\GAL4elav-C155 or the ubiquitous Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI driver.

Expression of DAAMScer\UAS.P\T.cMa under the control of Scer\GAL4btl.PS rescues the tracheal phenotype of DAAMEx68 mutants.
