A P{lacW} insertion in the large intron of the sra gene, at the same nucleotide as the P{Acp70Ag.Yp1.hs}sraA108 insertion.
female sterile (with Df(3R)sbd45)
meiosis II (with sra619)
meiotic anaphase I (with sraA108)
Eggs laid by sraA426/Df(3R)sbd45 mothers arrested in anaphase I show some abnormal anaphase figures, with chromosomes scattered throughout the spindle.
Eggs laid by sraA426/sra619 mothers are usually arrested in anaphase I but a few eggs appear to be in meiosis II. The two spindles observed in such eggs are parallel to one another and they are usually asynchronous, with one in metaphase and the other in anaphase. In a few sraA426/sra619 eggs, some pycnotic chromosomes appear to separate from the main spindle and nucleate secondary spindles.
Eggs laid by sraA426/Df(3R)sbd45 and sraA426/sra619 mothers arrest during anaphase of the first meiotic division.
The vitelline membranes of eggs laid by sraA426/Df(3R)sbd45 and sraA426/sra619 mothers are cross-linked.
Bin1R7-18, sra[+]/sraA426 has female semi-fertile phenotype
Revertants demonstrate the P{lacW} insertion causes the female sterile phenotype.
