An elav promoter regulates expression of a GAL4(AD)::Zip+ hemidriver (component of a 'split driver' system, contains the GAL4 activation domain). The hemidriver sequence includes the Tag:NLS(SV40-largeT) nuclear localization signal. An internal ribosomal entry site (IRES) from the Ubx gene followed by DsRed(Unk) coding sequence is present downstream of the hemidriver sequence, but this is not expressed in the nervous system.

The T:Disc\RFP tag is not expressed from this construct.
When Scer\GAL4AD.elav.T:Zzzz\ZipEERRL,T:SV40\nls2 and Scer\GAL4DBD.elavT:Zzzz\ZipRREEL are expressed together in the same cell, they function as a complete GAL4 driver.
Scer\GAL4DBD.Ccap.T:Zzzz\ZipRREEL and Scer\GAL4AD.elav.T:Zzzz\ZipEERRL,T:SV40\nls2 function together as a GAL4 driver and drive reporter expression within the more restricted Ccap pattern.
