Ectopic expression of mir-9aScer\UAS.cLa in ddaE, ddaF and DA neurons in the dorsal cluster under the control of Scer\GAL4221 significantly increases the number of dendritic ends of both ddaE and ddaF neurons.

Expression of mir-9aScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 results in a loss of scutellar bristles in adult flies.

Expression of mir-9aScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 results in the loss of sensory organ precursors in the notum region of the wing disc.

In the developing wing disc, the increased apoptosis seen in the wing pouch in mir-9aJ22/mir-9aE39 animals is rescued in the dorsal compartment by expression of mir-9aScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544.

The posterior wing margin defects seen in mir-9aJ22 flies are are completely rescued by expression of mir-9aScer\UAS.cLa under the control of Scer\GAL4vg.PU, and the anterior margin bristle defects are also largely rescued.
