Cultured neurons from stage 11 embryos that express Efa6GD14945 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu show a small but significant increase in axon length, and axonal microtubules are disorganized, as compared to controls.

The expression of Efa6GD14945 under the control of Scer\GAL4ato.3.6 leads to dorsal cluster neurons show a significantly higher density of axonal branches in the adult medulla.

The expression of Efa6GD14945 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR31F10 results in axons in the adult medulla showing swellings and microtubule bundle disorganization.

Expression of Efa6GD14945 RNAi under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in significantly increased level of pigmentation on the abdominal tergite 6 and the expression under Scer\GAL4tub.PU results in significantly increased pigmentation on both the abdominal tergite 5 and 6 in adult females compared to controls.

Adults expressing Efa6GD14945 under the control of the cardioblast-specific Scer\GAL4tin.CΔ4 driver show significantly reduced survival on day 6 after a shift to 29[o]C compared to control flies.

Adults expressing Efa6GD14945 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
