Expression of DlGD2642 under the control of either Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR or Scer\GAL4elav-C155 has no significant effect on the number of abdominal lateral adult muscle precursor cells in mid-third instar larvae, as compared to controls.

Expression of DlGD2642 under the control of Scer\GAL4ple.PU (together with tub-Gal80[ts] to limit the time of expression to adulthood) results in significantly increased adult lifespan, improves climbing abilities of aged adult flies and the numbers of dopaminergic neurons in the PPL1, PPM1/2 and PPM3 clusters in the adult brain are significantly increased relative to controls. Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU in combination with Scer\GAL80ple.PK (and tub-Gal80[ts] to limit the time of expression to adulthood) does not significantly affect adult survival.

Expression of DlGD2642 under the control of Scer\GAL4bab1-Gal4 (limited to the adult stages using Scer\GAL80ts.αTub84B) produces a decrease in the number of germline stem cell and cap cells in one week old female flies compared to controls.

Adults expressing DlGD2642 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) show significantly reduced avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Adults expressing DlGD2642 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) show no significant change in the kinetics of high temperature (46[o]C) induced paralysis compared to control flies.

Depending on the insertion line used, expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR can result in a weak flyer phenotype or late pupal lethality.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in extra bristles on the notum in 20-30% or 30-40% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain, depending on the insertion line used.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in loss of bristles on the notum in 70-80% or 80-90% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain, depending on the insertion line used.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in the absence of 0% or 10-20% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237-expressing area of the notum, depending on the insertion line used.
