UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Expression of hpoGD1570 driven in the fat body of male flies by Scer\GAL4r4 (or driven by Scer\GAL4yolk in female fat bodies) significantly decreases survival of flies in response to Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus or Enterococcus faecalis) and a fungus (Aspergillus fumigatus), compared to controls; expression with Scer\GAL4r4 in males has no effect on survival in response to Gram-negative bacteria (Erwinia carotovora carotovora 15 or Escherichia coli). Expression of hpoGD1570 driven by Scer\GAL4GMR.PU causes mild overgrowth of the eyes (leading to slightly larger eyes).
Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in a colour difference between the central Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain of the notum and the surrounding lateral region in 20-30% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain.
Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in an enlarged notum.
