Expression of sqdGD8593 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU has no obvious effect on adult eye morphology.

Adults expressing sqdGD8593 under the control of the cardioblast-specific Scer\GAL4tin.CΔ4 driver show significantly reduced survival on day 6 after a shift to 29[o]C compared to control flies.

Adults expressing sqdGD8593 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Expression of sqdGD8593 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) results in viable flies or complete lethality, depending on the particular P{GD8593} insertion line used.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR results in adult/pharate lethality.

Expression of sqdGD8593 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in a modest loss of eye bristles.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 may result in lethality, depending on the insertion line used.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in the absence of 20-30% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237-expressing area of the notum.

The eye degeneration phenotype (appearance of melanotic spots, fusion of ommatidia) characteristic for adult flies expressing TBPHScer\UAS.T:Zzzz\FLAG under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU is exacerbated further by co-expression of sqdGD8593.

The reduced climbing ability of adult flies heterozygous for TBPHΔ23 and also expressing TBPHdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cUa (together with UAS-Dicer2 to enhance RNAi efficiency) driven by Scer\GAL4elav.PU is strongly enhanced by co-expression of sqdGD8593.

Co-expression of both RbfGD4484 and sqdGD8593 under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in an extensive loss of eye bristles and the eyes have a flattened appearance.
