Expression of zfh2GD4506 under the control of Scer\GAL4Su(H).GBE (in combination with tub-Gal80[ts] to restrict expression to the adult stage) leads to a decrease in the cell size and nuclear size of enteroblasts in adult guts when compared to controls. It prevents Dextran Sulfate Sodium (DSS)-induced enteroblast activation (decreased cell circulatory and increased number of cells with membrane protrusions) and also impairs DSS-induced intestinal stem cell proliferation compared to control adults.
