The expression throughout development of sip3UAS.Tag:MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4NP5130 leads to a significant decrease in the proportion of mitotic cell in the midguts of 25- to 55-days old adults, as compared to controls; clonal expression under the control of Scer\GAL4unspecified in adult midgut clones results in a significant decrease in the average clone cell number at 7 days after clone induction, as compared to control clones.

Expression of sip3Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC under the control of Scer\GAL4ninaE.PT does not result in retinal degeneration (as determined using the pseudopupil assay).

The abnormal eye morphology resulting from the expression of ninaEG69D.GMR under the combined control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU, Scer\GAL4ey.PU is suppressed by the co-expression of sip3Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC alone, but not by co-expression of sip3Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC in combination with sip3GD3145, CG32441KK104001, PnglKK101641, CG11070KK101530, asrijKK108914, CG2126GD3969, hiroKK101387 or CG6766GD5521 (in combination with Dicer-2, for efficient RNAi).

Expression of sip3Scer\UAS.T:Hsap\MYC or under the control of Scer\GAL4ninaE.PT dramatically decreases the rate of pseudopupil loss seen in ninaEG69D/+ flies. The ommatidial defects seen in 21 day old ninaEG69D/+ flies are also suppressed in the double mutants.
