Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

rokcat.GMR flies exhibit rough eyes and an overall reduction in size compared to wild-type eyes. Ommatidial structure is dramatically disrupted resulting from cell death, and differentiated photoreceptors in the adult eye are disrupted and collapsed. Third instar larval eye discs show proper axonal guidance and projection of photoreceptors.

Additional Comments
Genetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

The eye phenotype of rokcat.GMR flies is suppressed in a hts01103/+ or diak07135/+ background.

The eye phenotype of rokcat.GMR flies is suppressed in a zip1/+ background.

The eye phenotype of rokcat.GMR flies is not suppressed in a sqh2/+ background.

Expression of LIMK1GMR.PV in flies expressing rokcat.GMR results in dramatic disruption of eye development associated with a severe morphology defect of the external eye and a reduced overall eye size.

Xenogenetic Interactions
Statement
Reference

Expression of BacA\p35GMR.PH in flies expressing rokcat.GMR suppresses the mutant retinal phenotype.
