Embryos expressing bazS980A.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 display severely disrupted epithelial morphogenesis and degeneration of the epidermis. Mutant embryos are open dorsally, and internal organs including the foregut and midgut protrude to the outside. Many epidermal cells round up and die by apoptosis.
Expression of bazS980A.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4arm.PS results in only little scraps of cuticle formation.
Scer\GAL4arm.PS, bazS980A.UAS.GFP has embryonic/first instar larval cuticle phenotype, suppressible by l(2)gl4
Scer\GAL4arm.PS, bazS980A.UAS.GFP has embryonic/first instar larval cuticle phenotype, suppressible by scrib673
Expression of crbintra.Scer\UAS and bazS980A.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 results in the same phenotype as overexpression of bazS980A.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP alone. Only little scraps of embryonic cuticle are observed.
The cuticle defects observed when bazS980A.Scer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4arm.PS are strongly suppressed in a l(2)gl4 or scrib673 mutant background.
