Expression of MarfmiRNA.CDS.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR results in mitochondrial fragmentation (they are smaller and rounder than normal) in the indirect flight muscles. The mitochondria also have irregular cristae.

Expression of MarfmiRNA.CDS.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU is sufficient to restore a normal filamentous mitochondrial network in Drp11/Drp12 flies.

Expression of MarfmiRNA.CDS.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU does not rescue the abnormal mitochondrial morphology of Df(3L)Pmi-PGRP-LD flies.

Expression of MarfmiRNA.CDS.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR suppresses the defects in mitochondrial morphology that are seen in the indirect flight muscles of Pink15 mutants. The defects in wing posture and indirect flight muscle degeneration phenotypes are also suppressed.

Expression of MarfmiRNA.CDS.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B suppresses the defects in mitochondrial morphology that are seen in the indirect flight muscles of park25 mutants. The indirect flight muscle degeneration phenotype is also suppressed.
