ScerGAL4G0431 labels the dorsal anterior lateral (DAL) neurons of the protocerebrum, among others. Using GFP reconstitution across synaptic partners (GRASP) reveals that these DAL neurons establish connections in the mushroom body calyx K5 region with the pioneer alpha/beta neurons of the mushroom body, labeled by EcollexAL5275.

    Detailed Description
    Statement
    Reference

Blocking synaptic transmission (using shi1.Scer\UAS at restrictive temperatures) from Scer\GAL4G0431 neurons does not significantly impair sucrose-reinforced appetitive memory performance (24 hours since training) compared to controls. Flies undergo conditioning at a permissive temperature (23[o]C), whereas testing is at a restrictive temperature (33[o]C).
