Expression of Dscam1.30.30.2.cAa.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4ftz.ng results in ectopic axon crossing of the midline in embryos. The initial projection of the pCC axon is unaffected in these embryos.

Expression of Dscam1.30.30.2.cAa.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4eve.RN2 has no effect on the pCC axon trajectory when assayed at stages 16/17.

Larvae expressing Dscam1.30.30.2.cMa.Scer\UAS in both the class I vpda neuron and the class III v'pda neuron under the control of Scer\GAL4109(2)80 show very few overlaps between the two neurons (in contrast to wild type), with the two arbors segregating into nonoverlapping territories.

Expression of Dscam1.30.30.2.Scer\UAS.cZa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 in large mushroom body clones in a wild-type background results in defects in the mushroom body, including disorganised lobes and ectopic projections of axons outside the mushroom body neuropil into adjacent brain regions.

The self-avoidance defects (dendrite crossings) seen in Dscam21/Dscam23 class I da neurons are partially rescued by expression of Dscam1.30.30.2.cMa.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4221.

The branch segregation defects seen in homozygous Dscamunspecified clones in the mushroom body are significantly rescued by expression of Dscam1.30.30.2.Scer\UAS.cZa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155; 70 +/- 5% of the clones have wild-type morphology.
