    Neoplastic transformation is seen in slmbUU11 mutant wing discs and slmbUU11 mutant eye discs fail to differentiate. slmbUU11 mutant wing disc clones grow larger than wild type controls. slmbUU11 mutant neuroblast clones display defects in asymmetric cell division.

    Chromatin is reorganised into compact, spherical structures surrounded by distorted nuclear envelopes in homozygous clones in the wing disc.

    ykiB5 suppresses the neoplastic transformation seen in slmbUU11 mutant wing discs.

    One copy of slmbUU11 enhances the eye phenotypes seen when crbintra.Scer\UAS is expressed under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PU.

    Expression of aPKCCAAXDN.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 suppresses the tumorous growth seen in slmbUU11 mutant wing disc clones. The resulting clones are smaller than in wild type.

    gluk08819/+ ; Cap-H2Z3-0019/+ double heterozygotes show some unpairing of polytene chromosomes in nurse cells. Unpairing is significantly increased if the animals are also heterozygous for either slmbUU11.
