Debcl27 homozygotes exhibit a severe increase in the proportion of hyperplastic testes as compared to controls; these testes exhibit a significant decrease in necrosis at their apical tip (as shown by the number of spermatogonial cysts bearing Propidium Iodine-positive or TUNEL-positive cells), as compared to controls.

debcl27/debclKO-unspecified flies are viable, fertile and exhibit a normal lifespan.

debcl22/debcl27 embryos have extra Kr-positive cells in segments A4 and A5 of the ventral nerve cord - these cells normally die.

debcl27 animals are slightly compromised for viability after ionizing radiation challenge at the larval stage.

debcl22/debcl27 animals show an increased frequency of notched wings after ionizing radiation challenge at the larval stage, compared to wild type.
