The impaired male pheromone (cis-vaccenyl acetate, cVA) detection characteristic for Snmp11/Snmp12 adult males is rescued by expression of Snmp1V353Y.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Or67d.PF : the lack of Or67d neuronal activity (measured by extracellular recordings in individual sensilla) is fully restored.

The failure of adult flies transheterozygous for Snmp11/Snmp12 to detect the moth Heliothis virescens sex pheromone (Z)-11-hexadecenal when they are also ectopically expressing Hvir\HR13Scer\UAS.cKa under the control of two copies of Scer\GAL4Or67d-GAL4-1 can be restored by co-expression of Snmp1V353Y.Scer\UAS : The Or67d neurons display significant activity (measured by extracellular recordings in individual sensilla) upon (Z)-11-hexadecenal presentation.
