NPFRsk8/Df(3R)BSC464 transheterozygous females fail to show the expected mating-induced (and NFPF-induced) increase in germline stem cells in the germarium, as compared to heterozygous controls; the expression of NPFRUAS.cYa under the control of Scer\GAL4NP1624 rescues the germline stem cell number in mated females, but also leads to an abnormal increase in germline stem cells in virgin females.
